沈济文是抚顺市社会科学院党史研究室研究员，1950年生于辽宁省抚顺县。业余时间喜爱书法和绘画，“合壁书”万寿字斋主，是中国创意书法“合壁书”的创始人。

沈济文在当代书坛是个陌生而又响亮的名字，因为不张扬、不炒作、不哗众取宠而陌生，但是他的书法创作风格和他发表的文章却让大众耳熟能详，沈济文退休前是抚顺市社会科学院党史研究室研究员，1968年参加中国人民解放军，1973年考入辽宁师范大学。
